Chaparral Rockstar Energy Drink 2010

2010 Round 1 - Eastern Creek Recap:

With the first round run and won, no-one could question the dominating performance from the BSM Toyota Starlet driven by past State and National Champion Dave Loftus. Current 2 time State Champ Ryan Brown tried his best to extinguish the Turbo Starlet but by the time the race was run, the #50 rocket was back in-front to take pole and all three races comfortability.

The biggest improvement from season 2009 was the Revolution Racegear RX7 of Brett Morse. Morsey made a nuisance of himself all weekend however a driveline vibration progressively got worse across the weekend meaning he would have to fall back in the Trophy Race which unfortunately hurt his overall results.

We struggled a little across the weekend to keep pace with the leading guys. Our test day on the Friday was cut short with a faulty injector driver in the ECU coming back to show it's ugly head and with our chassis guru Nigel Bolling being in Adelaide on Clipsal 500 duty, we were looking a little worse for wear. Thankfully Phil Armour offered to have a quick trouble shoot of the problem and with the help of the Mazsport Duo Bill Nabhan and Craig Wasson (giving us a brand new ECU to run for the weekend) he had the car back running and sounding like a million dollars.

This meant that we ended up testing the car for the first time this season during qualifying (no different from last year) however, with a stronger result. Paul Joyner from Sydney Shocks Absorbers came over after every session and tried to make the car better. Little changes between races made the car easier to drive and without Paul and Phil Armour's help across the weekend, we wouldn't have finished in a pretty healthy position heading into round 2 at Wakefield Park.
